Waste spill

A tractor trailer carrying liquid low grade radioactive medical waste swerved to avoid hitting a car and struck the guardrail near Riverside Parkway, Cobb County, Georgia and overturned just before midnight Monday.

The Cobb County Fire Department said seven of the truck’s eight containers containing the medical waste were breached in the wreck, but the liquids vaporized when the containers broke open, and there was no danger to the public.

Strange perhaps that raioactive wastes, even though low grade, were considered to present no particular hazard as the liquids “had vaporised”.  That is surely irrelevant!
