Ian Blenkharn

Ian Blenkharn is an independent microbiologist with more than 30 years experience in the NHS and UK Universities focusing on aspects of healthcare and environmental microbiology. He has particular research interests in hospital, occupational and environmental microbiology, healthcare waste management – surgical sepsis and the control of hospital infection, sharps safety and safe bio-hazardous waste management, occupational and environmental hygiene and microbiology and bio-safety.

Ian is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Biology, of the Royal Society for Public Health, and of the Institute of Biomedical Scientists. He is a Chartered Biologist, and a Chartered Scientist.
