Don’t do as we do, do as we say!

The papers are reporting today what the call the Eco-hypocrisy! of the Environment Agency. They run 3,356 diesel vehicles despite being tasked with fighting pollution and Environment Agency bosses have been branded ‘eco-hypocrites’ after that revelation.

A FOI request found that the Environment Agency run a fleet of more than 3,000 diesel vehicles – and just 27 pure electric ones, despite its main aim being to create a ‘cleaner, healthier environment’.

In all fairness, diesel vehicles were previously the preferred option and cheaper to run. Now, as the circumstances change they could scrap 3,000 vehicles and start again with electric but that too would, understandably, be heavily criticised.

But what does the Environment Agency no favours whatsoever is the constant stream of ex-Cathedra statements that can so readily be summarised as Don’t do as we do, do as we say!
