NHS Supply Chain has helped one of its suppliers cut packaging and transport costs by 63 per cent. It assisted a supplier of clinical waste containers to redesign the packaging of a selection of its product range, which reduced packaging and transport costs and saved 46 tonnes of paper, plus a quarter of a tonne of plastic. A packaging review saved nearly 1,000 pallets to achieve supply chain efficiencies and avoid price increases to customers on clinical waste containers.
Well done NHS Supply Chain, and congratulations also to Daniels Healthcare.
Others should do likewise. Failure to do so pours money down the drain, for manufacturers and suppliers, and for their customers.
