War of words

In the on-going war of words between pro-life protesters and registered US abortion clinics, it seems there are no limits to the extent of criticism and guilt by association.

Some time ago, we reported the problems faced by waste management companies servicing legitimate US clinics that offer abortion services (Clinical waste management – a target for protesters?). The war of words continues, with anti-abortion lobby claiming success in the prosecution of a Texas waste management company for disposal violations that resulted in clinical wastes being disposal, apparently incorrectly, to landfill.

If that disposal violation was proven, the quite correctly regulators must act and prosecution should follow. However, it is difficult to view in any way that this is some sort of victory for the anti-abortion lobby. In this particular war of words there can be no winners, though there are many losers.
