White Cloak Trash

White Cloak Trash – a name that is new to us, but a term used effectively by journalist Eric Ahianyo of Joy FM in Ghana to refer to clinical waste.

“The cholera epidemic which hit Accra recently exposed the vulnerability of the city in domestic waste management.

“But Accra’s problems with filth go beyond even the scary thought of its landfill site, which if shut could leave the city with a garbage crisis. The garbage is what you see.

“But what many do not see and know however is where the fetuses, amputated human parts and placentas from our hospitals end up.

“Hotline brings you a stomach churning revelation on the management of medical waste in “white cloak trash”, a documentary produced by Joy FM’s Eric Ahianyo.

Eric’s 30 minute broadcast is an excellent, well-informed and carefully balanced piece that is a pleasure to listed to.

Highly recommended.
