Work has started on a new clinical waste incinerator for Guernsey. Remarkably, this will accept clinical and hygiene wastes etc, but also animal wastes. The existing incinerator on the Princess Elisabeth Hospital is around 20 years old, showing its age, and will be closed down.

The new incinerator should be ready for commissioning near the start of 2026.
