After a long and particularly tiresome spell of spam activity that affected the Clinical Waste Discussion Forum, we have tried various remedies and finally settled on a complete rewrite of the entire web site!
Though many things will look familiar – and behave in exactly the same way – behind the scenes there is much greater functionality and greater resilience against spam attack. The content is, of will, be just as rich with theconstant availability of many downloads and all of the old Forum messages that contain a wealth of information, advice, opinion and news, and well as much reportage that sheds light on the wider world of healthcare waste management.
At present, the old messages are being archived, and will soon be mounted on the site as a read-only option.
The new forum takes a slightly different format. New messages can be posted only by the moderators and site admin. If you have an issue or announcement, the spam prevention arrangements mean that you will have to email us – moderator@ianblenkharn.com – and we will create the Forum message on your behalf.
Anyone can post comments about existing messages. These do not appear immediately, but will be held until checked and approved by an administrator. All messages conforming to the site rules will be permitted, without editing or amendment – this is just another tactic to keep out the spammers.
Enjoy!
