Garry Pettigrew, boss of the firm HES Ltd at the centre of a clinical waste scandal, and his wife Alison have been charged with breaching pensions laws.

They are alleged to have refused to provide documents to the pensions regulator in their roles as directors of Healthcare Environmental Services Ltd, breaching the provisions of the Pensions Act 2004.
