Leicester clinical waste driver assaulted

A driver was assaulted as he collected clinical waste in Leicester. The incident happened at about lunchtime on Monday, January 22, in Beatrice Road, Newfoundpool, at the junction with Fosse Road North.

Leicestershire Police has today appealed for witnesses to the violence to come forward. In a statement, the force said: “Did you witness an assault in Beatrice Road at the junction with Fosse Road North on Monday lunchtime?

“The driver of a clinical waste vehicle had parked the vehicle in Beatrice Road, Leicester, to make a collection and we he returned he noticed a grey Honda Civic parked behind.

“The car drove by and the passenger verbally abused the victim before getting out of the Honda and assaulting him.”

The victim sustained minor injuries but did not require medical treatment.

The statement added: “The incident took place around midday and there may have been a number of people in the area at the time.

“Did you witness the incident or the events leading up to it? The Honda may have had a partial registration number of KP56. If you can help please get in touch.”
