Healthcare Environmental Group acquires GW Butler

Healthcare and hazardous waste management company Healthcare Environmental Group (HEG) has acquired G.W. Butler (GWB) for an undisclosed sum.

GWB, which provides the National Health Service and private sector businesses with clinical waste solutions, employs 50 staff and currently operates three waste processing facilities located in Bradford, Nottingham, and Essex.

Under the acquisition, the company will continue operating under the G.W. Butler name, and will retain its staff.

Martin Helstrip, General Manager of GWB, said:  “We are delighted to have joined the Healthcare Group – when discussing the acquisition with the directors of HEG, the complimentary aspects of the two businesses made the decision an easy one. The combination of facilities, expertise and the ethos to drive efficiencies within the market is an extremely good fit. We are looking forward to integrating services to provide an industry leading service to our clients.”

Garry Pettigrew, Managing Director of Healthcare Environmental Group, welcomed GWB to the group, saying he ‘looked forward’ to working with the company’s existing clients and staff.

He added: “GWB’s enviable history, customer service reputation and the addition of the new waste treatment facilities will be a huge benefit for the group in winning new contracts and providing further capacity in the future.

“This latest acquisition ensures the group can continue to provide a sustainable, high quality nationwide service whilst being competitive in the UK waste market.”
