We hear almost weekly of the strange, dangerous and inappropriate items that turn up on the picking lines of the recycling hall. Of greatest concern are sharps which can bring a line to a standstill for an hour or so, though it is often the disruption to workflow rather then the risk to employees that seems to be the greater concern.
On April 9, a dead body was discovered on a conveyor belt at a Reno, Nevada, recycling facility.
The man apparently arrived at Waste Management Inc’s MRF inside a recycling truck that had collected a container that morning. The cause of death or how long the body was in the container before it was brought to the recycling plant were not immediately known.
