Re-use of needles

The importance of a robust and effective disposal infrastructure operating adequate regulatory oversight at every stage is exemplified by news from China where over 200 individuals have acqured Hepatitis C after reusing needles at a rural clinic.

Sadly, this is a far from uncomon incident that can be seen in many countries across Asia and South America. It exemplifies the possibility of disease transmission from used needles and should be a stark reminder for all about the importance of correct disposal.
