“Allegheny County Health Department is investigating after medical waste and chunks of concrete were dumped on a dead end street in Pittsburgh Arlington section.
Crews cleaned up the waste this morning on Syrian Street, an out-of town residential area. Syringe wrappers, latex gloves and an IV bag were found amongst the mess.
One resident said his roommate saw someone with a red truck dumping the waste.
“They were dumping further up the road here – started there and as he [came] up, he chased them, and just sped away with the back up and dumped the rest of it,” said Timothy Hackel, of Arlington.

No doubt the clean-up includes a careful search through the waste to track its origin, and thus catch the fly tipper. It is rarely difficult, as almost every bag of waste contains something that is traceable to a hospital, clinic or individual patient group.
