World Solid Waste Congress 2012

Information about the World Solid Waste Congress 2012 is now available at http://www.iswa2012.org/.

The congress will take place in Florence – it should be Naples! –  from Monday September 17th to Wednesday September 19th 2012. There is presently a call for abstracts.

Themes will include:

  • Climate change and waste management
  • Zero waste and waste prevention policies
  • International waste trade
  • Economically developing countries
  • Specific waste crises
  • Recycling of specific waste streams and final residue management
  • Management and impact of urban hygiene in cities

    • Recycling and resource recovery

    • Recycling of electrical and electronic waste
    • The new national system for management of used tyres
    • Experiences and problems within Middle East and North African countries
    • Climate change and waste
    • Technologies and experiences of anaerobic digestion
    • Waste management in Nordic countries
    • Tuscany – waste management planning in Tuscany
