Medical waste plants for Moscow

A medical waste processing plant will be operating in the Moscow region by 2015 and in St. Petersburg by 2013.

This was revealed by the head of Russia’s atomic agency Sergei Kiriyenko at a session of the Modernisation Commission. He talked about new Russian nuclear technologies that allow the production of energy from the processing of medical waste, which were already being used at a plant in Israel.

Not particularly uncommon news, except for the hints about the use of nuclear technologies – one to watch, but from a long, long way away!
