"CONTAMINATED hypodermic needles have been found outside a Merthyr Tydfil pub.
"A yellow sharps box, which contained a quantity of needles, was discovered outside the Wyndham Arms on Glebeland Street at around 2.30pm last Thursday.
"Regular Janet Williams, 45, found the container when she went outside for a cigarette.

It is quite unacceptable that any sharps box is discarded in this way, even if properly sealed. But just as an aside, what are the implications of smoking and alcohol on the welfare of children and others who might be exposed to a greater lifetime public health risk than from this sealed sharps box.
