Birmingham needle attacks: Police ‘unable to proceed’

BBC News reports that no charges are to be brought in connection with a series of needle attacks in Birmingham because of “insufficient evidence”.

Officers launched an investigation after a 30-year-old woman suffered a puncture wound in November. They also considered 10 other incidents they said could be linked to the same attacker.

Two men, aged 29 and 30, from the Smethwick area, were arrested.

But Det Insp Tom Chisholm said they had been unable to charge anyone.
