A Texas woman was treated at Cumberland Medical Center’s emergency room after lying down in bed and then being stuck in the hand by a used syringe, according to police reports.

The incident happened last. The victim was treated at the scene by the Crossville Fire Department and Cumberland County Emergency Services. She was then take to CMC for further care of the wound.

The lady told police that she had arrived at her room in the America’s Best Value Inn and decided to retire around 8:15 pm. As she attempted to lay down on the bed she felt a sting in the palm of her hand, looked under the pillow and found the syringe.

She looked under a pillow on a second bed and found another syringe. This one had a cap on it, according to the report.

Police searched the room and found a syringe cap in the trash.
