Fenland clinical waste charging issues rumble on

Fenland Council plans, or is that a threat (?), to impose charges to patients/householders for domiciliary clinical waste collections rumble on.

The driver has been a decision by the NHS or local clinical commissioning group to withhold funding for this essential service.

Somehow, someone must resolve this mess, to bring the parties to an understanding that direct changes to patients for this service is entirely wrong.

If it is ratified that direct charges will be levied, and I do really hope it doesn’t, this is likely to result in clinical wastes bobbing along though the regional MRFs and even fly tipping. This can be prevented with a little common sense and compassion, but in Fenland that seems to be in short supply.
