OSHA’s annual Bloodborne Pathogens, Biomedical Waste, and TB Training refresher course for faculty and staff is now available online at ULearn (http://ulearn.miami.edu/)
The initial training for newly hired faculty and staff will be available online soon. Students, volunteers, visiting faculty, observers, contractors, and others can visit this external link for both initial and annual training. What a great idea, to have this basic training available on-line.
Perhaps in the UK there is space for a short course of instruction on waste compliance, logically managed by EA and aimed at producers. And a separate on-line course for waste safety with emphasis on biological hazards but addressing also the basic manual handling, fire and transport hazards. Perhaps something for RoSPA with CIWM. We will discuss this at the next CIWM H&S SIG.
