It seems that in Greece, close to 100% of clinical waste goes untreated to landfill.
Clearly a market ripe for development, the problems faced by Greece stem from a lack of suitable legislation and an inability to implement EU standards and directives, but also the nature of that country and its many islands, that create a particularly difficult territory across which to implement an effective waste treatment and disposal infrastructure.
