As we move every closer to a general election, promises to the electorate are coming thick and fast.
One such caught my eye - a promise to eliminate hospital car parking fees, at least for those visiting hospital inpatients.
If this happens, though it seems a half-hearted arrangement that would be fraught with administrative problems, then the car part area of hospitals in England will no longer be seen as such valuable real estate. When, perhaps if, this ever happens perhaps then some additional space might be made available for waste storage - all too often pushed into a small corner of the car park with inadequate security and containment, the downgrading of hospital car parks might free up space and the many resources devoted to parking control etc, that might now be directed toward more waste storage facilities.
