There is evidence of massive escalation of the growth of illegal drug supply and the hidden use of injectable steroid and other hormone products in the UK muscleman and bodybuilding sector.
Gyms are denying all knowledge of this, but some have not installed sharps bins. Elsewhere, the supply, use and disposal of drug supplies and sharps will be unregulated and uncontrolled. With evidence of needle sharing and the transmission of Hepatitis B and hepatitis C, this is obviously cause for considerable concern.
